Can you provide me detail about Patrol Division of NC State University Police Department which is the most highly visible division which has the responsibility to pro-actively patrol the campus? Please tell me what is the procedure for selection in Patrol Division of NC State University Police Department?

The NCSU (North Carolina State University) Police Department is dedicated to provide the University community with the highest level of service in identifying and preventing crime, but is also dedicated to providing a number of non-criminal services to the community. University Police strives to provide the most professional, effective campus safety services possible. Through collaboration, it protects the pack and is most effective when members of the campus community are being proactively engaged. Services WOLF GUARD ID PROGRAM The Crime Prevention Unit of the Campus Police Department offers the WolfGuard ID Program to increase the chances that yvaluables will be returned if is stolen. This is accomplished by documenting the make, model, and serial numbers of valuables; so that they can be entered into a national computerized database should they be stolen. Ones items may also be engraved with drivers license number, which can ease the identification of personal property if it is recovered. SAFETY ESCORT SERVICES In conjunction with University Housing, the University Police Department provides a safety escort service to protect students, faculty and staff on campus between the hours of 10 pm and 4 am, as long as weather is safe for operation. In the hours prior to 10 pm, the police department encourages anyone travelling on campus to walk in well lighted areas with groups of people or to use the Wolfline Bus Service. RIDE-ALONG PROGRAM The Ride-Along Program is designed to increase understanding between Officers in the Campus Police Department and the University community. Officers are able to learn how they are viewed by students, faculty, and staff and the riders their awareness of law enforcement processes, problems, and operations. The Campus Police Department encourages the campus community to be interested and involved in the law enforcement process. Therefore, members of the campus community are permitted to ride in Department vehicles as passenger observers for civic or educational purposes. Participation in the Ride-Along Program is open to anyone who has a specific interest in campus policing (e.g. persons studying criminal justice or engaging in criminal research, visiting law enforcement officials, etc.) RBI RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR INITIATIVE The North Carolina State University Police Department, as part of its mission, provides education outside of the classroom. To further this mission, the police department has developed a Responsible Behavior Initiative (RBI). This proactive initiative will promote positive interactions between the campus community and the police, by emphasizing responsibility to oneself, to others and to the core values of North Carolina State University. The overall goal of this initiative is to provide social education for what it means to be a responsible community. LOST AND FOUND PROPERTY If one has lost property and think it may be in the possession of the police department, please contact the Property officer at the email. One will need to show proof of ownership to have the items returned to one. The departments Investigation Division can be reached at 919-515-2498 or emailed at Investigations@ncsu.edu. Anyone attempting to obtain property being stored by the NCSU Police Department must call 919-515-2498 to schedule an appointment to meet with an Investigation Division Officer prior to arriving at the NCSU Police Department.
