The General Regulations for Programme for Ph.D. – Doctor of Philosophy in Law, Doctor of Philosophy in Social Sciences with Law, Doctor of Philosophy in Science or any other Allied subjects with Law offered by CNLU (Chanakya National Law University), Patna are same: Eligibility: One who passed (a) Master Degree from a recognised University in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or 50% marks for reserved candidates in the aggregate and (b) passed by securing minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in the Ph. D. Entrance Test conducted by the University is eligible for enrolment in the Ph.D. Programme. Mere appearance at Entrance does not guarantee admission. Candidates qualified in UGC NET and JRF also should qualify in Entrance Test for enrolment in Ph.D. Programme. Fee for Entrance Test – Rs. 5000/- Total Marks of Entrance Test and Interview – 150 Syllabus for Entrance Examination: Research Aptitude +Research methodology +Research Design=50 marks Subject specific=50 marks. Interview Marks: 50. Qualifying Marks – One securing 50% marks in Entrance Test will be eligible to appear for interview/interaction. Medium of Examination: - English only Full/Part Time Ph.D. Programme: An applicant seeking admission to full/part time Ph.D. Degree Programme shall have: (i) Master Degree in Law from any recognised University having scored a minimum of 55% marks in the aggregate. (ii) To encourage interdisciplinary studies and research with strong legal component, the CNLU encourages candidates from other disciplines also to register for Ph.D. Full Time/Part Time Programme. Such candidates must have: a. Master Degree or equivalent degree or diploma in any subject relevant to the field of research with a Bachelor’s Degree in law; or b. Master Degree or equivalent degree or diploma in any subject relevant to the research with established research credentials by way of publications; or c. Master Degree or equivalent degree or diploma in any subject relevant to the research with long term in depth practical experience in the area to be researched; or d. M.
