NID- National Institute of Design was established in 1961. NID is the most pretigious design institute in India.The institute functions as an autonomous body under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. NID is recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under Ministry of Science and Technology as a scientific and industrial design research organisation.
NID conducts an entrance examination every year in January for admissions in Bachelor of Design & Master of Design courses facilitated by the institute.
The process of Admission to NID for B.Des. and M.Des. programmes consists of three stages:
Stage 1: Design Aptitude Test (DAT).
Stage 2: Studio Test.
Stage 3: Personal Interview.
