NATA is the abbreviated form of the National Aptitude Test in Architecture held for admission to first year of 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) degree course . NATA 2014 Dates:- NATA Test shall be conducted in two Phases. • Phase– I from 14.03.2014 to 25.05.2014 • Phase– II from 01.06.2014 to 31.08.2014 Eligibility Criteria: Aspirants must have pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent. Aspirants appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) or equivalent examination may also appear in NATA Aptitude Test. Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks in aggregate at 10+2 level. NATA Exam Pattern National Aptitude Test in Architecture is a two-part test including a paper-based on drawing test of two hours of duration a computer-based online aesthetic sensitivity test of one hour duration. NATA Exam Fee NATA Fees is Rs.800 which has to be paid at the time of Registration. |

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to first year of 5 year B. Arch Degree course at all recognized institutions all over the country. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability. Here I am giving you all important dates, date of NATA exam and other important details for NATA exam. Important Dates of 2014 NATA Exam: Notification of Registration: February 26, 2014 NATA 2014 Online Application Form: March 1, 2014 onwards Registration at the centers: March 1, 2014 onwards Test Dates: Phase – I from March 14 to May 25, 2014 Phase - II from June 1 to August 31, 2014 Score Card: 4 days after the NATA 2014 test Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have passed or will be appearing for 10+2 (Class 12)/HSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects are eligible to apply for NATA Paper Pattern: The test is in two parts. • PART 01: Paper based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test. • PART 02: Drawing Test this is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three questions. NATA Syllabus: Drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects- • Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner. • Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings. • Sense of perspective drawing. • Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form. • Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms. • Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition. • Understanding of scale and proportions. • Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test: This is computer based test where candidates have to answer multiple choice questions. The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination, observation, creativity and communication along with architectural awareness and comprises of- • Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings. • Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects. • Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities. • Analytical reasoning. • Mental Ability. • Imaginative comprehension and expression. • Architectural awareness.
