National Aptitude Test in Architecture is held for admission to first year of 5-year Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) degree course for all architectural institutions of repute in the country Tentative Dates: Date of Notification Feb, 2015 Last Date of Filling of Application Form Feb, 2015 Date of Exam Mar, 2015 Eligibility Applicants must pass in the final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent. Applicants appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) or equivalent examination may also appear in NATA Aptitude Test. For B. Arch or B. Planning Applicants needs to have mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 % marks in aggregate at 10+2 level. Paper Pattern:- The test is in two parts. • PART 01: Paper based drawing test and computer based online aesthetic sensitivity test. • PART 02: Drawing Test This is a two hour paper where candidate has to attempt three questions. Drawing aptitude is judged on the following aspects- • Visualising and drawing the effects of light on the object and shadows cast on surroundings. • Ability to sketch a given object proportionately and rendering the same in visually appealing manner. • Sense of perspective drawing. • Combining and composing given three dimensional elements to form a building or structural form. • Drawing from memory through pencil sketch on themes from day to day experiences. • Creating interesting two dimensional composition using given shapes and forms. • Creating visual harmony using colours in given composition. • Understanding of scale and proportions. Aesthetic Sensitivity Test The aesthetic sensitivity test measures perception, imagination, observation, creativity and communication along with architectural awareness and comprises of- • Visualising different sides of three dimensional objects. • Visualising three dimensional objects from two dimensional drawings. • Identifying commonly used materials and objects based on their textural qualities. • Analytical reasoning. • Mental Ability. • Architectural awareness. • Imaginative comprehension and expression. |
