NASA or ISRO after Diploma in Automobile

Can you tell me if I can join NASA or ISRO having completed Diploma in Automobile as I want to do a job in it?

As a Diploma holder in Automobile it is not possible to join NASA or ISRO as the minimum requirement is Graduation. For details I am giving you the eligibility for both:

Eligibility for ISRO

Applicants with M.Sc./BE/ME or Ph.D. degree are appointed as Scientists and Engineers, depending upon the specific recruitment's of each job. However, engineers holding Post Graduation degree in Aeronautical Engineering can get jobs in research arena.

2. Maximum age for post graduate students is 30 years.

3. ISRO also recruits B.Sc. pass out and Engineering Diploma pass out and provides them on-the-job training to brush up their skills and to build up expertise in its space exploration programmes.

4. Those that do not have aeronautical background can also get into aeronautics organizations as it wholly depends upon the kind of project. There are many tasks that can be performed by other engineers, who possess industrial training, certificate in various areas, such as Electronics Instrumentation's, Computer Electronics and Mechanical trades. Work profile of engineers and scientists totally depend upon the skill that they have.

Depending upon individual’s capabilities and brilliance, one can reach to position of a Project Manager/Division Head/ Project Director/ Group Director/Deputy Director/Director of various centers/Units of ISRO.

Eligibility for NASA:

1. To be an astronaut at NASA, one need to specialize in Aeronautical/ Aerospace engineering but people with high expertise and extraordinary skills can only reach NASA.

2. For this candidates have to go through a long selection procedure.

Although, NASA has specific reservation for non American candidates, just 1% of the filed applications are selected.

Not only scientists and engineers find employment in NASA, but it also require number of specialized personnel in the field of computer programming, personnel specialists, accountants, writers, maintenance workers etc.
