The Nagaland University - Medziphema was Established in 6th Sept. 1994 by the Nagaland University Act, 1989 of the Parliament .

It is the only Central University in the State having Three Campuses,
Lumami Headquarters,
Kohima and Medziphema.

At present the University is functioning from its Kohima Campus as Interim Headquarters.


School of Agricultural Sciences and Rural Development (SASRD), Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus is Caught up with Three Issues at the Moment –
Alleged Irregular Appointments,
Students Demanding the Dean’s Resignation over failure to meet their Demands and the Medziphema Youth Organization (MYO) demanding allotment of one seat in B.Sc Agriculture to Medziphema village.
