The University of Mysore offers Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in a wide range of subjects. Various departments under the University of Mysore as well as other Research and Academic institutions in Mysore, Bangalore and other places provide research scholars, facilities to do research as part of the programme. Selection of candidates for admission to Mysore University Ph.D. is based on entrance test and interview conducted by the university. Candidates who have completed M.Phil course and possess national level fellowships are exempted from the entrance test. Mysore University PhD Entrance Exam Eligibility:- those who have secured minimum 55% of aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST/Cat-1/Physicaly Challenged candidates) or equivalent grade under grading system, in Master Degree or equivalent exam from the recognized Universities. There is no upper age limit for applying for the Ph. D entrance test. Exemptions:- Below given candidates are exempted from the entrance exam and apply for Provisional Registration by consulting a guide in the subject of their interest after verifying the eligibility. (a) Candidates who have qualified for UGC/CSIR (JRF) Fellowships OR qualified for Lectureship through UGC/CS IR NET Examination/ K-SET/ GATE OR Government/Aided College Teachers under FIP. (b) Candidates who have completed M.Phil course, provided their M.Phil course was through an Entrance Examination. (c) Foreign Nationals with Indian/Foreign Degrees. Mysore University PhD Entrance Exam Pattern:- 1. One question paper per subject with one hundred questions (100) with four choices out of which one is the correct answer 2. Maximum marks shall be 100 (one hundred) and the time available for answering questions shall be 2 (two) hours only. Application Fee per paper:- a) General merit candidates: Rs.2000/- b)SC/ST/Cat-1 candidates: Rs.750/- University of Mysore Ph.D. Regulations      |
