Kanti Thermal Power Station likewise knowns as George Fernandes Thermal Power Plant Station(GFTPS)is situated in Kanti, Muzaffarpur,90 km far from Patna, the capital of the Indian condition of Bihar.

To assume control Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station (2*110MW), a backup organization named 'Vaishali Power Generating Company Limited (VPGCL)' with NTPC on 06/09/2006,- contributing 51% of value; and the parity value was contributed by Bihar State Electricity Board. The organization was rechristened as 'Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited' on April 10, 2008.

KANTI BIJLEE UTPADAN NIGAM LIMITED (KBUNL) is a joint endeavor organization between NTPC ltd and BSEB. As on 01/11/2014, value holding is 64.57% by NTPC and 35.43% by BSEB.KBUNL possesses and work Muzaffarpur warm power station situated at Kanti piece of muzaffarpur locale of BIHAR.

Stage - I of MTPS having two unit of 110 MW is under operation while Stage-II having limit of 2X195 MW is at development phase of fulfillment.
