Muslim Reservation in Jamia Millia Islamia

How many seats are reserved for the Muslim OBC category students in the Jamia Millia Islamia? Please give me the notification of the Jamia Millia Islamia Muslim Reservation notification with me. I am Muslim and wants to do B.Tech from this university.

Can you provide me Reservation Policy for Muslims for admission in B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology) Program in Jamia Millia Islamia University?

Jamia Millia Islamia University B. Tech reservation criteria specify the percentage of seats reserved for each category. The reserved category will consist of a person with disabilities, Muslims, Kashmiri migrants, etc. The reservation criteria are specified for the admission in the engineering program of the university.


JMI B. Tech Reservation Criteria

While filling the application form one must apply under one reserved category only.

Admission under reserved categories will only be given subject to eligibility conditions set up by the admission authorities.

The relaxation in minimum prescribed percentage of marks in the qualifying exam for admission to a particular programme will be permissible only under one relaxation criteria

One who has applied for admission under reserved category but get admission under General category will be considered under General category as well. One must note that one in this case will be given admission under one category only.


JMI B. Tech Reservation Criteria for Muslim Students

In each course 30% seats will be reserved for Muslim candidates.

Apart from the 30% seats, 10% seats in each course will be reserved for women Muslim candidates.

Also, one belonging to “Muslim Other Backward Classes”(OBCs) and Muslim Scheduled Tribes” will be given 10% reservation in each course.


JMI B. Tech Reservation Criteria for Person with Disabilities

One belonging to Person with Disabilities will have 5% seats reserved in each course under the reservation criteria. Person with disabilities category will include the following:
Blindness/ low vision
Hearing impairment
Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy
Autism/ Intellectual/ specific learning/ mental illness


JMI B. Tech Reservation Criteria for Internal Jamia Students

One already studying in Jamia will be given 5% reservation in Undergraduate Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate Programmes. One must note that one who has appeared for different exams of Jamia will not be eligible to claim reservation under this category.


JMI B. Tech Reservation Criteria under Special Provisions

Kashmiri Migrants

One will be considered for admission in up to 5% of the total seats and 2 seats in courses offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Kashmiri Migrants will have to go through the complete admission process.

Also, Kashmiri migrants will have to produce a certificate issued from the registered Divisional Commissioner of the concerned State/ Union Territory to support their claim of being Kashmiri migrant.

Jammu and Kashmir candidates

One belonging to the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be considered for admissions in over and above not exceeding 2 seats in courses offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

One seeking admissions under this category must produce a certificate in support of their claim of being from Jammu & Kashmir.

Foreign candidates

10% seats will be reserved for candidates of foreign origin. One will have to apply under general category.
