MMS stand for:
Master of Management Studies

And
MBA stand for
Master of Business administration

The Master of Management Studies program is a 2 year full-time post-graduate program. On successful completion, the student gets an M.M.S. degree.

India has accepted the UGC format for course content and hence all UNIVERSITIES can give degrees, so they give a MBA degree, also known as MMS in mumbai.

MBA:
MBA has emerged as a very attractive career option for students desirous of becoming managers in various industries.

It is a 2 year degree course that is designed to fulfill industrys demands and includes in depth study of subjects like accounting, marketing, finance, HR, operations, and project management.

There are countless colleges and Universities offering MBA degree, all students aspire to clear CAT (Combined Aptitude Test) conducted by IIM (Indian Institute of Management).

MMS

MMS stands for Masters in Management Studies and is a 2 year management degree program that is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The course content is very much similar to a regular MBA program as it provides in depth knowledge in different areas such as marketing, systems, HR, operations, and finance.

MBA and MMS are similar management degree programs having same duration (2 years).

One aspect where MMS differs is inclusion of real time learning inside the industry apart from classroom learning which is the highlight of any MBA program

MBA is still more popular than MMS.
