Master of Finance and Control [MFC] Master of Finance and Control is a full-time two years duration course offered by Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh Approved by UGC. Specialization : Finance Number of Seats : 25 Eligibility- Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks in aggregate Admission Guidelines The selection procedure is based on Admission Test. Course syllabus- M.F.C. First Semester (CBCS) Credit 04 Max. Marks -100 Sessional - 10 Marks Mid Term 30 Marks Examination - 60 Marks UNIT-I Conceptual Framework: Objectives of a firm economic and noneconomic; Managerial Economists role and responsibilities; Fundamental economic principles- incremental principle, opportunity cost principle, discounting principle, equi-marginal principle. Business cycles: Nature and phases of business cycle. UNIT-II Demand Analysis : Law of demand , determinants of demand; elasticity of demand its meaning and importance; Price elasticity, Income elasticity and cross elasticity and their use in managerial decisions, Demand estimation and its methods , Demand forecasting techniques UNIT-III Production theory : Production function its significance and role; Stages of production; Economics of scale; Estimation of production function; Economic value analysis ; Short and long run cost function their nature, shape and inter-relationship; Law of variable proportions; Law of returns to scale. UNIT-IV Price determination under different market Conditions: Pure and Perfect characteristics of different market structures; Price determination and firms equilibrium in short-run and long run under perfect competition , monopolistic competition, oligopoly and monopoly.
