Method Of IAS Exam

I am interested to prepare for the IAS exam but don’t know about the IAS exam. Will you please tell me the complete procedure and scheme of the IAS exam? Also provide me the reference books for IAS pre and mains exam preparation with some tips to crack the IAS exam?

I am telling you the pattern of Indian Administrative Service IAS Exam

IAS Exam pattern-

The preliminary exam of IAS is objective in nature is conducted to shortlist candidates for the mains exam

The IAS mains exam is offline and is of descriptive nature to select candidates for the personality test/interview.

The preliminary exam consists two papers i.e. General Ability test (GAT) and the Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) meant to test the candidates on their analytical skills

The questions in the preliminary exam of IAS will be objective and each questions will have 4 choices as answers.

There is a negative marking of marks.

The IAS preliminary exam will be bilingual i.e. questions will be set in both Hindi and English language, except questions of English language comprehension skills.

6 Paper 4 General Studies III 250 marks

7 Paper 5 - General Studies IV 250 marks

8 Paper 6 Optional Subject 1 250 marks

9 Paper 7 Optional Subject 2 250 marks

Total 1750 marks
