Here I am providing the detailed information regarding the B.Sc Nautical Science admission in Merchant Navy which you are looking for .

Eligibility:
10 + 2 with Mathematics as one of the subjects

Age Limit: Max. 25 Yrs

The usual procedure of this course is as follows:

1. Applicants undergoes 4 to 6 months of training at the academy.

In this training , Applicants is groomed and prepared for facing the challenges of the seas.

2 Applicants then waits for the formalities to get completed. These are STCW certificate issued by govt. of India, after which he can apply for any CDC license (byGovt. of Belize/Panama/Liberia/Marshall Island/UK). The academies assist the Applicants for these formalities.

3. After that the Applicants has to complete a mandatory sailing period of 18 months on a ship for a paid internship. The stipend paid is usually 350 to 500 US $ per month.

4. After this period, the Applicants becomes a 3rd officer, with salaries around 1500-2000 US $ per month. He is awarded B.Sc (Nautical Science) upon clearing University exam.
Promotions

5. After12 months of sea experience, Applicants will be promoted directly as Second officer without any other examinations.

With more sea experience & further examinations, Applicants will be promoted to Chief Office.

6. With regular service the candidate can rise to “CAPTAIN” within 8 to 10 years durationafter successfully clearing COC examinations.
