The Company is overseen by the Board of Directors, which plans systems, arrangements and audits its execution occasionally. The Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) and Six Whole-Time Directors viz. Chief (Onshore), Director (Technology and Field Services), Director (Finance),Director (Offshore), Director (Exploration) and Director (Human Resource), deal with the matter of the Company under the general supervision, control and direction of the Board.

As on twentieth November 2015, the quality of the Board of Directors is 13 individuals, containing 7 Functional Directors (counting the Chairman and Managing Director) and 6 Non-official Directors (including 2 low maintenance official chosen one Directors and 4 low maintenance non official Directors) selected by the Government of India. To share the worldwide experience and business systems, Managing Director, ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) is a changeless invitee to the gatherings of the Board.

The Managing Director of ONGC is Mr. Dinesh K Sarraf.
