Shri Kishor Kharat, aged 58 years, assumed charge as MD and CEO of Indian Bank on April 04, 2017. Prior to this, he was MD and CEO of IDBI Bank Limited since August 14, 2015.

He was the Executive Director in Union Bank of India from March 10, 2015 till his elevation as MD and CEO of IDBI Bank Limited in August 2015.

Education

He is a Graduate in Commerce and Law and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He also holds a Degree of Master of Business Administration.

About the Career
He started his professional banking career with Bank of Baroda where he had a long, successful stint of over 37 years. While in Bank of Baroda, he was credited with the establishment of a Foreign Subsidiary of the Bank in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies and he headed the Subsidiary for more than three years.

Achievement

During his service in Bank of Baroda, he had wide banking experience and exposure in various crucial aspects which include Credit, International Business, Information Technology and General Administration, both within India and abroad.

Presently, he is the Alternate Chairman of IBA Standing Committee on Risk Management and Basel Implementation.

He is also a Member of the CII National Committee on Banking, Member of the Insurance Advisory Committee of IRDAI, Member of the Governing Board of NIBM and PGDM Executive Council of NIBM.
