Hi I am interested in knowing the Managing Director of the Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Limited?

The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) of the Government of India had selected Prabhu Nath Prasad as the next Managing Director for the Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Limited (BCPL), which has implemented the Rs 10,000crore Assam Gas Cracker Project at Lepetkata.

Mr. Prasad was the Chief Operating Officer of BCPL. He was also a Senior Executive Director of GAIL (India) Limited.

The post of BCPL MD was published some time ago following the removal of the then MD, JK Singh Teotia, as he was not able to achieve the desired construction targets on the project.

Teotia was appointed in the year 2009 for 3 years but had to be shown the door as he botched miserably on all fronts as the captain of the mega project.

Though Prasad had been selected by the PESB after the interview, his formal appointment as Managing Director had to be propositioned for few weeks, due to procedural formalities in the Union Ministry of Personnel, Prime Minister’s Office, etc.

An annual general meeting of BCPL was to be held at Guwahati’s Hotel Brahmaputra Ashok where several important board resolutions are expected to be taken at the AGM.
