Mr Mbako Mbo (Chief Risk Officer) officially joined BDC on the 1st of May 2015 from African Development Bank where he held the position of Financial Management Expert responsible for:
Project appraisals, risk assessments, designing financial management systems for new investments, review of financial reports, formulation of the Bank’s Country and Regional Strategy.

Mbako has prior experience from Deloitte, Barclays, Botswana Telecommunications, Botswana Power Corporation where he held diverse roles including:
financial accounting, management accounting, financial planning, and auditing.

Mbako holds a BA Accounting, BSc Honours Applied Accounting, an MBA, and is also a Member of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (AMCT).

Mbako is also completing his PhD in Business Administration and Management from the University of Stellenbosch.
