Re: MBA World Cup Rugby
The Duke Grad Rugby Football Club is will host the 36th annual MBA Rugby World Cup on April 8-10, 2016 in Danville, VA. Approximately 30 student teams from around the world travel to Durham, NC and Danville, VA. There is a men's 15s tournament as well as a women's 7s touch tournament. Expect the following: - More rugby than can handle. 2 days. 30 teams. 90 matches. - World Class Hospitality and Medical support. - Socials that include singing Frenchmen, Irish drinking games, and lots of beer. - A massive brass cup with one’s name on it if one’s prove oneself worth. Player & Team Eligibility for 2016 MBA Rugby World Cup Men’s & Women’s Eligibility Requirements 1. Minimum of 15 players registered per side 2. Club must be registered 3. 200 Level coach registered with team. The coach must be listed on your roster with USA Rugby. HOWEVER, the coach does not need to actually attend the tournament (i.e. it would be as if your coach was out sick). In other words, you just need someone with a Level 200 certification to agree to sign on to the team. A coach can be registered with multiple teams, but only one of those teams can be participating in the RWC. If you don’t have a coach already, we recommend using the undergrad coach if possible. 4. International Clubs – In order to be compliant, you need to submit to me a “Tour Approval from Home Union” letter. Attached are two examples for your reference used by LBS and Smurfit last year. |
