Re: MBA way of thinking
An MBA degree is provides you lot of knowledge of management. The management degree is giving you way of thinking to react and face the situation. Business schools have long sold the promise that, like an F1 driver zipping into the pits for fresh tyres, it just takes a short hiatus on an MBA programme and you will come roaring back into the career race primed to win. The return on investment on an MBA has gone the way of Greek public debt. After MBA start out by thinking about the next day, the next week and then the next month is giving you mind set of situation of upcoming day. These are not really strategic time frames but the practice is good. Once you have that nailed, think next quarter, next year and then next two years. Build it up until you can go between them easily. It will take a lot of effort to sit and think about these things, but after a while, you will do it automatically. Challenging assumptions will bring out the underling strategy so that you can determine if its still viable. Doing this is a great way to learn what strategies lead to what tactics, etc. Ways to think about the deeper: Think 3 steps ahead Study Competitors Ask Why Study Your Industry Think Like A Competitor Understand Your Customers Essential MBA Skills: Leadership. Teamwork. Problem solving and analytical skills. Initiative. Adaptability to change. Interpersonal and communication skills. Strategic thinking and planning abilities. Global orientation. Kind of jobs can you get with an MBA: Healthcare Administrator Information Systems Manager Operations Research Analyst Business Operations Manager Management Analyst Market Research Analyst Accountant Financial Analyst |
