Here are some tips Take mock tests in online environment Analysis is must Focus on strength Practice a lot Set target but be open on number of attempts Time management Don’t compromise with accuracy Reverse action Relax well before your D-day Be focused and keep calm during CAT Reservation Category % of seats reserved Scheduled Caste (SC) 15% Scheduled Tribe (ST) 7.5% Other Backward Classes – Non-creamy layer (NC-OBC) 27% Persons with Disability(PwD)/Differently Abled (DA) 3% Syllabus Verbal and Reading Comprehension Verbal reasoning, antonyms and synonyms, sentence correction, critical reasoning, fill in the blanks, syllogism, analogies, idioms Data Interpretation Area graph, Line graph, Charts (Columns, bar, pie), tables, venn diagrams Logical Reasoning Clocks and calendars, Directions, Binary Logic, Coding-decoding, Blood relations, Linear and matrix arrangement, Syllogism Quantitative Ability Number system, Geometry, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Quadratic & Linear Equation, Algebra, Permutation and Combination, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Trigonometry Exam pattern There will be 3 Sections in CAT 2017 CAT Exam Format Quantitative ability (QA) 34 Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) 32 Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VARC) 34 Total No. of Questions 100 Duration of the examination will be 180 minutes. Some questions in each section (Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal and Reading Comprehension) may not be of multiple choice type. Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen. Also, use of basic on-screen calculator will be allowed for computation. Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section. On-screen timer will mark remaining minutes for the test. Three (3) points will be awarded for each correct answer; one (1) point will be deducted for each wrong answer.
