Mutually Beneficial Activities MBA Foundation is a 13 years old NGO working in the field of Rehabilitation of Person With Disabilities (PWDs), with its registered office in Powai and with 4 rehab centres in Powai, Chembur, Thane and Gorai.

Their focus is to enable PWDs and their parents in making them value adding citizens of this country through necessary training and therapy, and live a life with dignity.

The Powai Centre started with life care beneficiaries and day care trainees for adult persons with disabilities, it extended its services to the areas of early intervention clinic for children up to the age of 11 years and pre-vocational unit for children between 12 and 17 years, since no such facilities were available in Powai.

About 18 children avail of this facility to be prepared for regular or special schooling / vocational training.

This centre consists of 39 beneficiaries, but more than 50% belong to the severely disabled category.

The beneficiaries in the sheltered activities centre make food products such as chocolates, snacks and bakery products; Gift items such as fancy paper bags, newspaper bags & envelopes; Products of daily use such as table napkins, aprons and packing of agarbathis, disinfectants & hand wash.

They also make eco friendly Ganesh idols with paper mache.

This activity is an excellent therapy for the youngsters’ hands – tearing, soaking, crushing, mashing, etc. for fine motor co-ordination.

Some beneficiaries are trained in back office work, like computer operations, filing, faxing, lamination, Xeroxing, etc. This centre also has a personality enhancement program.
