Re: MBA/MSFS Georgetown
The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service and McDonough School of Business offer a full-time, three-year, program that leads to both MBA and Master of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) degrees. It focuses on the global interdependence of business and government systems and is intended for students with strong interests in the relationship between foreign relations and global business. MSFS/MBA 3 years full-time study 90 credits, 39 MSFS credits and 51 MBA credits are required. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Sequence of Courses/Course Information First Year: Students complete the first year of the MBA Program and are required to take one MSFS elective course in the spring. Second Year: Students must complete the coursework required of traditional first-year MSFS students and take one MBA course in the spring. Third Year: Students combine the required MSFS workshop with MSFS and MBA electives. The Georgetown MBA includes a required international experience of one-week of field-based learning outside the U.S. and 12 weeks of directly related course work. Three first year integrative experiences and an 18-week international business course will weave international issues throughout the first year. A 12-week course in Technology and Knowledge Management will connect technology issues to all functional areas. Admissions Admissions processes and decisions for MSFS and the Business School are made independent of one another. Applicants must submit applications to both admissions office. Students should indicate on all admissions forms that they are applying to the joint degree. MSFS accepts the GMAT. You can apply for the dual degree program during the first year of the Georgetown MBA program or during the first year of MSFS. Since admissions decisions are made independently, one cannot guaranteed special admission consideration because you are already in one program. Contact Detail: Georgetown University Rafik B.
