Re: MBA or MCA after B. Sc
Both MBA and MCA are good after B. Sc IT for higher studies. If you want your career in computers and software’s then go for MCA and if you are interested in Management and want to change your field then goes for MBA. M.B.A: M.B.A (Master of Business Administration) is a Postgraduate Degree Course whose area of expertise is studying the various aspects of a Business Set-Up. It is normally a 2 years program with 2 or more Semesters varying as per the institute’s policy. M.C.A: M.C.A (Master of Computer Applications) is a postgraduate Information Technology course. The duration of Master of Computer Applications is three years, divided into a number of semesters which are generally six in number. Generally, the 1st year course is aimed at skills development in computers using various technologies, the 2nd year is more focused providing a conceptual framework and the 3rd year provides the specialization and the project work. Re: MBA or MCA after B. Sc
If you have interest in computers then MCA would the ideal course for you. Although you can also do M.Sc in Computer Science but MCA has more scope therefore you should definitely pursue it. An advantage would be good performance throughout the academic career. If onecan manage to keep 65 percent or above in MCA, then definitely one has a great scope. Considering the performance, I am quite certain that top IT companies will be more than happy to hire an individual with excellent scores. To pursue MCA one has to appear for the entrance exam. Some of the exams are mentioned below: AIMCET MAH MCA CET BIT OJEE VIT ICET One will need minimum of 50 percent marks in graduation to pursue Master of Computer Applications. You should also have Maths as one of the subjects in 12th or graduation to pursue MCA. After completing MCA one can apply for jobs in top IT companies like: Infosys Microsoft Wipro Tech Mahindra Satyam IBM HCL Accenture The other option you could pursue is MBA in Information Technology since you are from technical background. The management course will definately prepare you for the commerce side of the business i.e. what management is all about. Here you will get trained in handling the aspects related to marketing and functions related to trade. For MBA as well you need to appear for entrance tests & qualify to gain admission. There are numerous MBA entrance tests conducted by Universities and colleges in India. CAT XAT SNAP MH-CET CMAT IBSAT NMAT MICA IIFT One you crack the test, the further process will be instructed by the authorities for which test one appeared. Both are equally good courses to pursue and have nearly equal career prospects. Finally the prospect lies with the individual’s performance in the end where his career is headed. |
