Since the 1990s, FURB has consolidated its obligation to encouraging scientific production and promoting academic qualification.

Integrating teaching, research as well as the extension, the University currently offers nine Master’s Programs and one Doctorate Program, all of them suggested by CAPES – Coordination for Refinement of Personnel in Higher Education of the Ministry of Education.
