The CSUN (California State University, Northridge) Nazarian MBA Program selects one who demonstrates a high promise of success both in the program and in their future career endeavours. Admission to the CSUN Nazarian MBA program is competitive. A typical successful candidate has a GMAT score of 600, an undergraduate GPA of 3.2 and 5.5 years of professional work experience. Admissions Requirements Prospective students are required to apply online. Only complete applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. The following are required for CSUN MBA application to be considered: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, A 3.0 cumulative GPA or a 3.0 in the last 60 semester units, A professional Resume Minimum of one year professional work experience, however; 3-5 years of work experience is preferred. Internships and volunteer work do not count as professional work experience, Official GMAT/GRE score report (taken within the past 5 years). Competitive GMAT/GRE scores above the 50th percentile in both Verbal and Quantitative sections are required, Statement of Purpose detailing background, career path and influences, professional interests, and how plan to use MBA degree, One to three Letters of Reference (may be from employer(s) and faculty), International students from non-English speaking countries only are required to submit official TOEFL, IELTS, and Pearson English Test. MBA Program Structure Foundation Courses - 15 Units BLAW 508 - Law in the Business Environment SOM 591 - Statistics and Stochastic Models for Managers ECON 500 - Survey of Economics ACCT 501 - Financial Accounting GBUS 502 - Seminar in Financial Accounting Core Courses - 24 units GBUS 600 - Analysis of Contemporary Organizations ECON 600 - Economics of Strategy FIN 635 - Financial Theory and Policy IS 628 - Computer-Based Management Information Systems MGT 620 - Behavior in Organizations MKT 640 - Marketing Management Seminar SOM 686 - Seminar in Internationally Competitive Operations Management MGT 693 - Seminar in Strategic Management Culminating Experience - 3 units GBUS 698A - MBA Consulting Project GBUS 697G - Comprehensive Examination Electives and Concentrations One needs to complete 3 electives. Electives vary by semester and include specialized topics in Management, Finance, Marketing, Data Analytics and Entrepreneurship. The MBA Consulting Project satisfies one elective. MBA concentrations are not required. To complete a concentration, students are required to complete 3 electives courses within their selected concentration. Students can count the MBA Consulting Project toward any concentration. Concentrations are optional. Students may only attain MBA concentrations with Graduate-level courses. The Nazarian MBA offers concentrations in Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management/Human Resources, Marketing and Accounting. Some concentrations rely on graduate classes outside the MBA including Information Systems (Health Informatics), Systems and Operations Management (approved Engineering courses), Entertainment Industry (Music Industry Administration extra fee applies), and International Business (student proposes relevant courses for approval). To complete a concentration, students are required to complete three elective courses within their selected concentration. The MBA Consulting Project, interdisciplinary in nature, double-counts to satisfy both an elective requirement and the culminating experience.
