Hi I have completed BA in Mass Communications and Journalism now I want to do master course so what is the eligibility criteria for this from IGNOU?

M.A. Mass Communication & Journalism or Master of Arts in Mass Communication & Journalism is a postgraduate Mass Communication course.

MA in Journalism and Mass Communication (MA(JMC))

Minimum Duration: 2 Years
Maximum Duration: 4 Years
Course Fee: Rs. 20,000
Minimum Age: No bar
Maximum Age: No bar

Eligibility:

Graduation in any discipline with fifty percent marks.

The areas covered under the programme are:

Print, electronic and online journalism;
Specialised news reporting;
Special emphasis on news production - newspaper, magazine, electronic and new media;
Media system and management;
Research methodology;
Dissertation in area of specialisation; and
Internship with a media organisation.

Objectives

After completing the programme, a student will be able to:
Describe the concept of news and apply it in different forms of journalistic writings;
Develop new story ideas and sharpen news sense to identify news;
Develop a new style of news writing and presentation;
Report, write, edit and produce news for print, radio, television and online media;
Convert the story from one format to different media formats; and
Ideate, visualise and differentiate the treatment of one programme format from another.
