The AJK Mass Communication Research Center is a chief media establishment in India. Established in 1982 by Anwar Jamal Kidwai (previous VC of Jamia Millia Islamia and later, Chairman of the Center), the MCRC offers graduate and post-graduate courses in the workmanship, specialty and innovation of the cutting edge media. The MCRC gives the most astounding standard of media instruction and preparing with a professionally and scholastically proficient workforce and a wide range of going to experts.

A.J. Kidwai built up the MCRC as a team with York University, Toronto and the Canadian International Development Aid Agency. The CIDA furnished the MCRC with a scope of complex creation gear while York University sent the original of educators.

Infrastructure

PRODUCTION FACILITIES AT THE AJK MCRC

The AJKMCRC is recognized by its front line specialized framework and creation offices. There are two completely prepared HDTV studios for multi-camera creations, one studio for SD generation with virtual set and a sufficient number of DV cameras (PD-150, PD-170, Z1, DSR 570 and Panasonic DVX 100) with frill for single camera shoots.

RADIO JAMIA

As a major aspect of its social responsibility to the region in which the University is found, AJK MCRC, runs a group radio station on 90.4 FM.

MEDIA LIBRARY

For the advantage of its understudies, the AJK MCRC runs a Media Library which has a far reaching gathering of books, diaries, movies, DVDs, video and sound tapes alongside a file of stock shots and press clippings.

MEDIA RESOURCE Center

The James Beveridge Media Resource Center (JB MRC) at the AJK MCRC was set up with a concede from the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT), Mumbai. The MRC is dedicated to chronicling, examine and hypothetical reviews with a unique concentrate on Documentary Films and Asian Cinema.

Canteen

A different container has been given to understudies of the Center. It serves, tea, espresso, frosty beverages, snacks and snacks. Bottle charges must be paid for in real money at the season of procurement.
