Initially the Lucknow Metro Rail Project was planned to include two corridors: North-South and East-West.
The Lucknow Metro is a proposed rapid transit system in the city of Lucknow, India. Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation Limited or LMRC is responsible to build and operate this network.

Lucknow Metro will be the most expensive public transport system in the state of Uttar Pradesh, costing 12500 crore . It is an under construction rapid transit system in the city of Lucknow, India.

Lucknow Metro is a rapid transit system serving the city of Lucknow in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The 8.5 km stretch of the rapid transport Lucknow Metro system was open to the public on 6th September 2017. The Phase-1 of the Lucknow Metro project (Transport Nagar to Charbagh) was operational for the public from 6 am to 10 pm. The second phase is likely to be completed by January 2019.


The Lucknow metro cover a distance of 22.87 km with 22 stations. It is the seventh longest operational metro network in India after the Delhi Metro, Hyderabad Metro, Chennai Metro, Namma Metro, Noida Metro and Kolkata Metro.
