The National Institute of Technology Karnataka formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College, is a public engineering university at Surathkal, about 17 kilometres north of Mangalore

The Distanced between the Nit Surathkal and the Mangalore Central Railway Station is just about 3 kms. to NITK.

Autorickshaws are generally available in the Surathkal Railway Station.
