Moag (Author) About the Book Malayalam: A University Course and Reference Grammar, consists of over 500 pages, including 25 lessons, a glossary, six appendices, and three indexes. The text was designed for classroom instruction, but is also suitable for self-study, particularly if used in conjunction with the language lab tapes and/or a native speaker of the language. The text itself follows a logical progression, and covers all aspects of language learning - reading, writing, listening and speaking. However, the dictionary in the back could be better, and there are several typos throughout. This book would be great to work through, if the reader has access to a native speaker. If one is serious about learning Malayalam, this is the best, and probably the only book available in North America.
