Can you tell me if MGU (Mahatma Gandhi University), Meghalaya offer Part Time Ph D program in its curriculum?

The Research, Development and Innovation Centre of Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya has been created to play an important role in enhancing the Research Methodology and practices for useful technologically products and help students enhance their skills by thinking ahead.

Programme Information
There shall be three categories of Ph.D. candidates as listed below:
a) Full -time
b) Part-time (Internal)
c) Part-time (External)

General Eligibility Criteria for Ph. D. Program
One for admission in Ph.D. Program in any of the Faculties must have obtained the Master degree with first class or minimum 55% marks (CGPA 5.5 - 6 in a scale of 10) at Post-graduate exam and 2nd division at degree exam of University or of another University recognized as equivalent thereto for General Category and 50% in UG and PG for SC / ST candidates.

Duration of the Ph. D Program
1. One will be allowed to submit his Ph. D. Thesis only after two years from the date of registration as notified by the University for the full time Candidates.

2. One will be allowed to submit his Ph. D. Thesis only after three years from the date of registration as notified by the University for the part time Candidates.

3. This period may be reduced to 18 months if one has a M.Phil degree from any University.

Entrance Examination
The University conducts Entrance Exam for all eligible candidates. However, the School/Centre/Institute/Unit concerned will look into applications received for the Ph.D. and the School/Centre/Institute/Unit will decide about conducting or not conducting or giving effect to any other criteria for selecting Ph.D. candidates out of the applications they receive.

Final Examination System
Ph. D: By Thesis. Completion in minimum 2 years & maximum 5 years
