Madras University Free Education
Hello buddies, I am Niranjan. I have heard that the Madras University, Tamil Nadu is giving the free education to the poor and needy people. Is it correct? If it is then can you please share the detailed information about it??

I completed UG degree and planning to take admission in University of Madras came to know about Free Education Scheme. Will you please provide me all details about Free Education Scheme of this university so I plan for admission also provides contacts for doing enquiry?

University of Madras is a public state university in Chennai (formerly Madras), Tamil Nadu, India. Established in 1857, it is one of the oldest and premier universities in India The Free Education Scheme is to assist the students who are unable to pursue their higher education in undergraduate courses in the Aided/Self-Financing Colleges only, affiliated to University of Madras, owing to financial constrain. The students residing in Chennai, Thiruvallur, and Kancheepuram districts are eligible to apply. The selection will be made on the basis of Economic status cum merit. The Eligible Candidates will be Selected on the basis of the following conditions: This scheme is applicable only for students residing in Chennai, Thiruvallur, and Kancheepuram districts and appeared for +2 examination during March 2018 The Family income should not exceed Rs. 2,00,000/- P.A. The Family should not have own a house or land. The Orphans, Widows Children, Transgender, disabled, should obtain 50% of Marks The Candidates should be the First Graduate in the family, should obtain 60% of Marks The Candidates whose mothers have been deserted, should obtain 70% of marks Other candidates who have secured 80% and above marks will be considered on the basis of Economic and Family Circumstances The Candidates should have passed all subjects in first attempt. The last date for submission of application will be 15 days after the publication of the Higher Secondary Examination Result. The Candidates should produce proof of documentary evidence such as Income Certificate, Community Certificate, First Generation Graduation Certificate issued from the Revenue Department, Ration Card, etc.. failing which the application will summarily be rejected.
