Can you tell me about the admission requirement for M.S. (By Research) Program offered by Centre for Research Anna University, Chennai?

Centre for Research Anna University, Chennai does not offer M. Tech (By Research) Program, instead it offer M.S. (By Research) Program.

Courses Offered

M.S. (By Research) Degree in Engineering/ Technology
Eligibility: B.E/B. Tech in the relevant branch of Engineering / Technology

M.S. (By Research) Degree in Science and Humanities
Eligibility: M.Sc. / M.A. (English / Communication / Mass Communication / Journalism / Media Arts) in the relevant branch of Science and Humanities / M.C.A

M.S. (By Research) Degree in Management Sciences
Eligibility: B.E / B. Tech in any branch of Engineering/ Technology or Masters degree in any branch of Science and Humanities

M.S. (By Research) Degree in Architecture and Planning
Eligibility: B.Arch. / B.Plan.


M.S. (BY Research) Programme
One who satisfies the eligibility criteria is eligible to apply for M.S. (By Research) Programme. Final semester UG/PG students are also eligible to apply.

Full-time M.S. (By Research) Programme
One under Full-time do research work in the University Departments/ Colleges/ Campuses /Affiliated Engineering Colleges and is available during the working hours for curricular, co-curricular and related activities.

One working in the projects undertaken from State/Central/Quasi Government and totally funded through the projects in the University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, University Campuses, Govt./Govt. aided/Self-financing Engineering Colleges situated within Tamil Nadu.

If the Principal Co-ordinator/Investigator of such projects are recognized Supervisor of Anna University, Chennai and working in the University Department/Affiliated Engineering College, one is register for research programme under such Supervisor only.

One should be appointed in a project sanctioned by a funding agency/organization at least for a period of two years. Part employments in different spells or in different projects are not permitted.

One in employment, who wants to pursue Full-time study, should be sponsored by the employer and should avail study leave for the minimum duration of the programme and should produce relieving order obtained from the employer to join the research programme.

Foreign nationals sponsored by Government of India on any exchange programme and who satisfy the eligibility conditions as per the regulations are also eligible for Full-time study.

Part-time M.S. (By Research) Programme
The below categories of candidates are eligible to apply:

Regular employees of University Departments/University Colleges of Engineering, University Campuses, Govt. / Govt. Aided/Self-financing Engineering Colleges/ Architecture Schools affiliated to this university within Tamil Nadu.
One working in R&D centres which are recognized as a research centre by this University to do collaborative research work and sponsored by the respective employer.
