Yes definitely after completing M.Sc. in Food Technology you are eligible for the CSIR UGC NET . NET stands for National Eligibility Test .It is organised by UGC twice in a year. Eligibility: Aspirants must be citizen of India. Aspirants must hold post graduation degree. Aspirants must score 55% in PG course,50% for SC/ST. No upper age limitation. Exam pattern: NET exam consists of 3 sections, 2 objective sections and 1 descriptive section. Paper I is common for all subject candidates and will mainly consists of questions from Quantitative Reasoning General Aptitude Teaching and Research Aptitude Elementary basics of Computer Science General Science General Knowledge Current Affairs Paper II & III will be separate for each subject candidates and will comprise of questions from the respective subject areas. Paper I will consist of 60 questions of 2 marks each; among which the candidate has to answer only 50 questions within time duration of 75 minutes. Paper II comprises of 50 objective type questions each carrying 2 marks which have to be answered within 75 minutes Paper III consists of 2 essays of 20 marks each, 3 analytical/ evaluative questions of 15 marks each, 9 definitional/ short answer type questions of 10 marks each and 5 text based questions of 5 marks each. In total, the candidate has to answer 19 questions of 200 marks within 150 minutes. Important Dates: (i) Start of On-Line Submission of Application Form and Fee deposit through Bank Challan: 22nd July 2014 (ii) Date of Close of deposit of fee (at All stations): 12th August 2014 |

Yes definitely after completion of M.Sc. Food Technology course applicants are eligible to appear in UGC NET exam . As per UGC norms , Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. Candidate's who post graduation subject is not listed among specialization can opt for a related subject.
