Re: Lsat bc
The Master of Laws (LL.M.) is a research-intensive degree that prepares graduates for opportunities in law teaching, legal research, policy development, public and governmental service, and the practice of law. Master's (LL.M) Program - Admissions Requirements One must hold the academic equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from UBC with one of the following: A minimum overall average in the B+ range (76% at UBC) in third- and fourth-year courses. Academic standing with at least 12 credits of 3rd- or 4th-year courses in the A grade range (80% or higher at UBC) in the field of study Alternatively, one who does not meet the requirements stated above, but who have had other significant formal training, relevant professional experience, and/or otherwise possess demonstrable knowledge or expertise that would prepare them adequately for successful study in a specific graduate program, may be granted admission on the recommendation of the appropriate graduate program and approval of the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Faculty Supervisor One is asked to identify preferred supervisors in the application packages. One must submit a list indicating first and second choice for a thesis supervisor. The list should be uploaded to application form. There is no need to secure a thesis supervisor nor is it is necessary to contact potential thesis supervisors prior to submission of an application as many faculty members prefer that applications are referred by the Graduate Committee for their review. The willingness of a faculty member to supervise does not guarantee admission; the decision about whether to recommend admission remains with the Graduate Committee. However, no one will be admitted without a faculty member agreeing to supervise. International Credentials English Language Requirements One with undergraduate training at a university where English is not the primary language of instruction for the entire university, must demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency through one of the approved English language proficiency exams. The examining body must send results directly to the Graduate Program at Allard Hall. The Graduate Program at Allard Hall requires: TOEFL: minimum overall score of 100 with a minimum score in each category of 25. IELTS: minimum overall band of 7.0 with a reading and writing band minimum of 7.0. GCE: A level English examination with a standing of at least "B". The Graduate Program at Allard Hall does not offer conditional admissions on the basis of an English language training program. If one has completed English language training program one will still be required to submit one of the approved English Language Tests indicated above. Contact Detail: Peter A.
