The Temple of Learning Lalit Narayan Mithila Vishvidyalaya, Darbhanga is a result of the valued craving of the general population of this district.

The regional ward of the University is spread more than four locale of Bihar in particular Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Begusarai. The college has 43 constituent universities and 25 subsidiary schools other than two government universities - Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital and Rural Institute, Birouli, Samastipur. 42 constituent universities and 07 subsidiary schools are enlisted under segment 2 f and 12(B) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956.
