The National Institute of Technology Durgapur or NIT Durgapur is a Central Government engineering college founded in 1960 by the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy.

According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), it is ranked 30 in the 2016 engineering university rankings

It offers graduate and undergraduate programs in engineering, science and management.
