Apart from this every fourth and second Saturday of the month will be holiday, and the other Saturdays will be full working days in Bank.

Responsibilities of a bank P.O.

He/She has to work towards increasing the bank business viz. managing cash flow, loans and mortgages and finances.

Another responsibility of PO is to work as public relations officer, handle customer complaints and address various customer related issues

The work of a bank PO also includes managerial tasks, such as supervision of clerical work

PO has to verify all the work done by bank clerk.

A bank PO issues ATM cards, cheque books, Demand Drafts etc.

He/she takes care of the loan related documents and performs on site visit of the loan taking parties as and when required.

During the induction training the faculty, accommodation and food was superb. But after the training the issue popped up as we were told about the postings on the last day of the training and the postings were not at all as per the likings. All the candidates got posted to different circles. A circle in Canara bank is the same as a zone in any other bank.

But it was one of the best we could have as the best part of the job was the salary offered to all the new recruits.

The salary bifurcation for the Probationary officer is as follows:

Basic salary Rs. 14500/-
DA Allowance is Rs. 7656@ 52.8% of basic
CCA is Rs. 540 (only in metro and class a cities)
The Gross Salary would be Rs. 22696/-
Deductions as per the rules:

Rs 2269 pension
Rs. 130 proffessional tax
Rs. 769 income tax

So the Net salary after deductions would be Rs 19527/- in hand

So the life of a PO with Canara Bank is probably one of the best.
