The Armed Forces Medical College is a medical college in Pune, India, in the state of Maharashtra. The college is managed by the Indian Armed Forces.

Life at AFMC:

Complete protection is given to the freshers as regards ragging, including CCTV cameras, grills to fresher floors that are locked in the night, guards on duty for every floor, accessible Warden, special anti ragging committees and so on

Facilities:

There are facilities for sports, including tennis, squash, basketball, and a swimming pool.

There are a large number of societies and clubs like the Student Scientific Society, Computer Club, Hobbies Club, Debating Club, Adventure Club, Musimatics etc. where students can pursue extra-curricular interests.

Admission details:

Admission in Armed Forces Medical College, Pune is to be done on the basis of AIPMT medical entrance exam.

Eligibility for AFMC Admission

A candidate seeking admission to the MBBS Course in AFMC is eligible if he/she fulfills the following criteria –

A candidate should be citizen of India. Foreign nationals of Indian origin may be admitted into AFMC only after they have acquired Indian citizenship or in respect of whom the Ministry of Home Affairs issues a certificate of eligibility.
Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.
Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt of India, Ministry of Defence.

There will be two categories for age criteria depending on academic qualifications: –

10+2 or equivalent: Should attain the age of 17 years on 31 Dec 2016 but must not have attained the age of 22 years
Passed B.Sc. examination or appearing in Final B.Sc. examination: Must not have attained the age of 24 years
