Lateral entry for MCA in Bharathiar university

Is there facility of Lateral entry available in Bharathiar university for MCA course, actually I want do direct admission in MCA 2nd year bcoz ii have eligibility for this so I want to do MCA from only this university

The Bharathiar University is an affiliating type, recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and Common Wealth Universities. At present, 112 colleges are affiliated to it.

This includes 25 Autonomous colleges, 11 Management Institutions, 101 Arts & Science colleges (18 Women's colleges, 90 Co-educational colleges, and 4 Men's colleges) including one Air force Administrative College and three constituent Colleges and a PG Study Centre.

It has 37 Departments in the campus, dedicated to teaching and research including 13 Schools and a School of Distance Education. All Schools/ Departments are staffed by highly qualified and well experienced faculty members.


Lateral Entry for MCA


MCA (Master in Computer Application) Lateral entry Admissions will be made on the basis of marks of TANCET or Bharathiar University MCA Entrance Test conducted by the Department of Computer Applications, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.


Eligibility Criteria


(i) A pass in any recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration ( 10+2+3 or 4 years pattern ) in any discipline with core Mathematics (or) Business Mathematics at +2 level or a pass in any recognized Bachelor's degree with 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level or a pass in any recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration (10+2+3 pattern) in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as any one of the subjects..


(ii) One should have appeared for TANCET Examination. MCA (Lateral Entry): A pass in Bachelor Degree of minimum 3 years duration in B.C.A., B.Sc.(Computer Science / Computer Technology / Information Technology) or equivalent with Mathematics as course at Higher Secondary level or at Graduate level. One should have appeared for an Entrance Test conducted by TANCET. The last date for submission of filled in MCA application is within Ten Days from the date of publication of TANCET results.
