Karur Vysya Bank was started in the year 1916 in Karur, then a small textile town with a vast agricultural background, by two illustrious sons of the soil – Sri M.A. Venkatarama Chettiar and Sri Athi Krishna Chettiar

Total business of the bank was at Rs. 81381 cr. with total deposits at Rs. 44690 cr and total advances at Rs. 36691 cr.
The Net Profit for FY14-15 was Rs. 464.28 cr.
The net owned funds of the bank are Rs. 4246 cr. as on 31.03.2015.
The capital adequacy ratio of the Bank stood at 14.62% (Basel III) which is well above the regulatory requirement of 9%. As per Basel II, CRAR works out to 14.63%.
The Net NPA was at 0.78%
