Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at NDRI, Karnal became operational in July 1976. Subsequently, this Kendra has developed infrastructure to run the need based skill oriented training programmes through Learning by Doing.

Mandate
On-farm testing, refining and documenting technologies for developing region-specific sustainable land use systems. Collaborate with the subject-matter specialists of the State Agriculture Universities/Scientists of the Regional Research Station and the State Extension Personnel.

Organize front line demonstrations in various crops to generate production data and feedback information.

Organize vocational training courses in agriculture, scientific dairy farming, dairy processing, fish farming, bee-keeping, home science, vermi-compost making and allied vocations for the farmers, farm women rural youth and entrepreneurs.

Organize training to update the extension personnel within the area of operation with emerging advances in agricultural research on regular basis.

Research Areas :
Vocational training for the unemployed rural youth for self-employment.

To conduct on-farm research of the newly released technologies on farmers fields to see its economic feasibility and get the feedback from fields.

Dissemination of latest technologies in the field of Dairying and allied fields through training.
