The Kasturba Health Society was established on September 11, 1962 to run
the Kasturba Hospital

It now runs the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences and the
Kasturba Hospital.

Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences is a type of medical
educational and research institute.

It was established in the year 1969.

It is located in Sevagram, Maharashtra, India.

It is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

It is India’s first rural medical college.

It is managed by the Kasturba Health Society.

It takes pride in the fact that its Kasturba Hospital, started in 1944, is the
only hospital started by the Father of the Nation himself
