Important tentative Dates
Last Date for Online Registration- last week of May 2014
KAS Main Exam Expected Date can be in June 2014


KPSC KAS exam details
Eligibility:
Applicant should have passed any graduate degree.


Age Limitation
Age must be of between 18-35 years.


KAS (Prelims) Exam Pattern :
The Preliminary Examination shall consist of two papers of objective type (multiple choice).

(i) Each paper carrying 100 Questions with each question carrying two marks.
(ii) Each paper shall be of a maximum of 200 marks and a duration of two hours (Total for two papers 400 Marks) in the following description, namely:-


PAPER - I
General Studies related to National and International importance 40
Humanities 60


PAPER - II
General Studies related to State Importance 40
General Science & Tech, Environment & Ecology 30
General Mental Ability 30


KAS (Main) Exam Pattern :
Descriptive Type questions


KAS (Main) Exam contains 8 papers carrying 2100 marks.
• Paper – I : Compulsory Kannada – 150 Marks
• Paper – II : Compulsory English – 150 Marks
• Paper – III : General Studies (Paper – I) – 300 Marks
• Paper – IV : General Studies (Paper – II) – 300 Marks
• Paper – V, VI, VII & VIII : Out of 30 elective subjects two subjects should be selected.


Each subject contains two papers carrying 300 marks each.

Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) conducts the Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) exam.

The exam date for the KAS exam is 19-04-2015 and last date for the KAS exam has been gone and the date was 20-02-2015. Have a look on following dates:

Starting Date to Apply Online was on: : 22-01-2015.
Last Date to Apply Online was on: 20-02-2015 till 11:45 pm.
Last Date for payment of application fee (Within working hours of Post Office) was: 21-02-2015.
Date of Preliminary Exam: 19-04-2015.
Main Exam: August, 2015.

Eligibility Criteria for the KAS exam:

Applicant need to pass gradation degree in any discipline form recognized university.

Age Criteria:

Age of the candidate should be between 21 years to 30 years.

Application Fee:

For General Merit (GM), Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: Rs. 300/-
For SC, ST, Cat-1, Physically Handicapped, Ex-Military Person (Ex-MP): Rs. 25/-
Fee should be paid through Computerized Post Offices Only.

Selection procedure: Selection of the candidate will depends on followings:

Mains Exam
Interview

As you are asking for key dates related to KPSC Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) Recruitment exam , but as per me Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), has not published its Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) Examination official notifcatio so I am giving bellow tentative dates for it .

KPSC Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) Recruitment exam syllabus
Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):

Paper-I:

(i) Current events of National and International importance.
(ii) Humanities History of India Emphasis shall be on broad general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects with a focus on Indian national movement with special emphasis on Karnataka.
(iii) World Geography and Geography of India with a focus on Karnataka.
(iv) Indian Polity and economy, including the countrys political system, rural development, planning and economic reforms in India-sustainable development, poverty alleviation, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.,

PAPER II:

(i) Current events of State importance and important State Govt. programmes.
(ii) General Science & Technology, Environment & Ecology contemporary developments in science and technology, and their implications including matters of everyday observations and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline, general issues on Health, environmental ecology, biodiversity, and climate change- that do not require subject specialization.
(iii) General Mental Ability Comprehension, Logical reasoning and Analytical ability, Decision making, problem solving, Basic innumeracy (numbers and their relations, order of magnitude etc.,) and data interpretation ( charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc., (class X / SSLC level).
