Karnataka State Open University is a distance learning university founded in 1996, located in Mysore, Karnataka, India.

The University campus is situated in an area of 36 acres along the Mysore-Mangalore highway, in the Manasagangotri campus of the University of Mysore, in Mysore city.

It is about 5 km. from the city centre and has an atmosphere ideally suited for academic pursuits.

The university headquarters houses the administrative offices, the academic block, lecture halls, a well-equipped library, a few cottages for students coming to Mysore for examinations and contact programmes, and all the necessary amenities such as post-office, bank and canteen.

Hostel For Women-

KSOU has beautiful and well furnished Ladies Hostel in the Campus with accommodation for 56 students at a time.

Each room can accommodate two students at a nominal rent of Rs. 50/- per head.

In addition to this, each student has to pay Rs. 250/- as Refundable Caution Deposit.
