Can you provide me the syllabus and paper pattern of Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) as I will be giving the exam this time so need to know the details first?

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission into first Year Medical / Dental / Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Ayurveda / Unani / Homeopathy / Naturopathy and Yoga programs offered in various Colleges in Karnataka state. Syllabus The entrance examination consists of four papers which include Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The questions are of 10+2 standards. Biology The syllabus of biology is divided into two the following parts Botany Zoology Section of Botany consists of following topics- Cell Biology and Genetics, Histology and Plant Anatomy, Diversity of Plant Life on Earth, Introduction to Ecology, and Taxonomy while section of Zoology comprises the study of Tissues of humans, Digestion, Circulation, Respiration, Nervous System, Human Reproduction, Origin Of Life, Organic Evolution, Animal Resources And Human Welfare Dairy, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Animal Life, Study of the Cell and Cell Division. Mathematics Syllabus of Mathematics consist of Algebra, which includes Theory of Indices and Logarithms, Progressions, Mathematical Induction, Theory of Equations, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Partial Fractions, Elements Of Number Theory and Congruences, Analytical Geometry and Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Calculus and Trigonometry. Physics The syllabus of physics includes the study of Dynamics, Static, Hydrostatics and Hydrodynamics, Heat, and Geometrical Optics. Chemistry Syllabus includes following topics- Kinetic Theory of Gases, Stochiometry, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, Radioactivity, Organic Chemistry and Environmental Pollution. Examination Pattern Each section consists of objective questions with multiple options. Although, no marks are deducted for wrong answer but the candidates are required to mark single answer against a question as more than one answer indicated against a question will be considered as wrong answer. The test is schedule for two days. First day, Mathematic and Biology paper is conducted and on the second day, the candidates are tested on their physics and chemistry knowledge. Each paper consists of 60 marks and is of 80 minutes of duration. |
