The Depart*ment of Min*ing engi*neer*ing was started, as a wing of Col*lege of Engi*neer*ing, Osma*nia Uni*ver*sity and was shifted to Koth*agu*dem, the town of coal indus*try in 1976 and it was named as Koth*agu*dem School of Mines (KSM).

It is the first min*ing engi*neer*ing col*lege in Andhra Pradesh.

In 1994 col*lege was shifted from Osma*nia Uni*ver*sity to Kakatiya University

Pro*ce*dure & Eligibility

The can*di*dates who want to seek admis*sion in this UNI*VER*SITY COL*LEGE OF ENGI*NEER*ING have to qual*ify in the EAM*CET exam*i*na*tion con*ducted by the Govt. of Telan*gana.

The eligibil*ity is 10+2 with Maths, Physics and Chem*istry as their main stream. The can*di*dates should attend the coun*sel*ing for admis*sion into the Engi*neer*ing col*leges con*ducted by the Con*vener.

Based on the rank obtained in EAM*CET, can*di*dates can opt for this Uni*ver*sity as per the avail*abil*ity of the col*lege and branch at the time of counselling.
