Airport Customs Officer post is comes under ‘Group A’ or ‘Class 1’ Officers in Indian Administrative Service (IAS). To join custom department You need to passed Civil Services Examination (CSAT) to become a custom officer.

Eligibility
You have to passed any undergraduate degree of any Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India

Nationality:
A candidate must be a citizen of:
A citizen of India, or
A subject of Bhutan, or
A subject of Nepal, or

Age Limits
Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August

The exam is consist of 3 stages:
Civil service aptitude test
Civil service main exam
Personality test

As per my knowledge both degrees are valid for Custom officer . You need to appear for the UPSC entrance exam. On clearing the entrance exam you will need to appear for and interview. Also there is a need to clear the physical fitness test. All the information regarding this exam is available in the UPSC site.

Eligibility Criteria:

Once you are a graduate, you may then, apply for combined graduate level exam, conducted by the Staff selection Commission. This is an entrance exam conducted for recruitment of Officers in the non-technical branches of various departments, including Customs.
The age limit to apply for the exam is between 20-27 years.



The Central Board of Excise and Customs is a governmental body, which is a part of Revenue department under Finance Ministry. The Customs department basically deals with the levy of taxable goods imported to the Country. They are also responsible to generate policies and procedures regarding customs
