Job in customs department after M.Com
I have done M.Com and I am interested to do job in customs department so please tell me how I apply for it?

The Central Board of Excise and Customs is a governmental body, which is a part of Revenue department under Finance Ministry To join customs department you have to appear in competitive test conducted by UPSC and SSC. The written test for selection of Superintendent is carried out by UPSC Preventive Officers is carried out by Staff Selection Commission. Eligibility Criteria: Candidate should have at least 50% marks in graduation. Those who have passed 12th class can apply for the post of lower division clerks within the department. Customs and excise officers are part of the civil service . Custom officers work with agencies including the Garda and the Department of Foreign Affairs. A candidate with M.com degree eligible to join customs department. Entry requirements : Degree required: Non-graduates and graduates of all disciplines. Relevant degree subjects: Accounting Finance Law Psychology. Specific entry requirements Aptitude tests Interview. Role of a customs and excise officer: Customs: combating the importation of firearms, drugs and other banned items and collecting revenues on imported goods. VAT: assessing and collecting VAT from businesses. Excise: levying duties inland on alcohol and tobacco. Skills and qualities required: Ability to collate and analyse often complex information. Ability to disseminate detailed information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Self-motivation. Honest and fair in applying the rules. Tactful and polite with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent listening and questioning skills. Good numeracy skills, with the ability to interpret accounts and make calculations. Ability to work accurately, pay close attention to detail and notice inconsistencies. Ability to present information in a clear and logical way. |
